Perfect for any occasion

The Swan is located a pleasant 14 minutes walk from Amersham Rail Station, which is served by both London Underground and National Rail.  The last station on the Metropolitan line, Amersham is just 45 minutes from the centre of London, making it the ideal spot to enjoy a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of city life.

If you’re driving, you’ll find the town located on the junction of the A355 road from Slough and Beaconsfield, the A404 road that links Maidenhead, High Wycombe and Harrow, the A416 road from Chesham and Berhkamstead, and the A413 road, which runs from Aylesbury to Uxbridge.

If you’re travelling by car, we have ample car parking to the rear of the Pub.

Keeping Busy in Amersham

Situated in the attractive market town of Amersham, Buckinghamshire, there are plenty of things to see and do in the area surrounding The Swan.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, Amersham is the perfect place to take in some fresh air whilst enjoying a long, relaxing walk, before stopping off at The Swan for some much-needed refreshments. There’s a lovely short walk from Old Amersham, which encompasses a 2.5 mile circular route. Or, if you’re feeling slightly more energetic, there’s also a great five mile walk that takes you up into the hills behind Old Amersham. Whether you need some fuel before you set off on your walk or a well earned meal once you’ve finished, we’ll ensure you are well looked after.

Just a couple of miles outside of Amersham, you’ll also find Little Chalfont Nature Park – a peaceful park home to natural woodland, a rare wild flower meadow, picnic spots, and even a storytelling area.

Back in the town itself, Amersham Museum is an award winning museum set within a 15th century building located in the heart of Amersham. With a collection spanning over 2,000 years of local history, hands on exhibits, and a packed programme of activities and events, this fascinating insight into the history of Amersham will be a hit with the full family. On certain dates, you can also embark on a guided walk of Amersham Old Town from the Museum.

Or, if you’re visiting on a match day, why not head to Spratley’s Meadow to cheer on Amersham Town FC. If rugby’s more your thing, Amersham and Chiltern Rugby Football Club play at Weedon Lane.

Further afield, Bekonscot Model Village and Railway, Chiltern Open Air Museum, the charming Chenies Manor House and Gardens, and the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre are all worth a visit.
